About this Episode

As open source gains momentum, Cloud Foundry focuses on its users, citing that 40% of them are in fact end users. In a livestreamed episode of The New Stack Makers with TNS Founder Alex Williams at Cloud Foundry Summit Europe, Cloud Foundry Executive Director Abby Kearns explained that Cloud Foundry aims to continue to evolve its technology to benefit their goals when working with the Cloud Foundry platform.

For some organizations working outside of Silicon Valley, there is a vast shortage of developer talent to choose from. Kearns explained that today's organizations outside of technology hubs such as San Francisco have taken a proactive learning approach to help bring their new and current developers up-to-speed with the demands of today's cloud-native software platforms.

“For each of these companies that are becoming software companies, they’re trying to find out, where do they find that talent?” Kearns said, adding that, “We’re seeing a lot of companies invest in training and re-training people, teaching them to be cloud-native developers and I think that is the most fascinating piece of all this.”
