About this Episode

There are few things more frustrating than a dropped call. At the keynote event during OpenStack Barcelona, OPNFV rose to the challenge of handling a network failover in a rather dramatic way using its fault management framework, Doctor. Having made a call from on stage on a mobile device, OPNFV Executive Director Heather Kirksey collaborated with OpenStack Chief Operating Officer Mark Collier began to cut the cables from the 5G network core set up on stage in order to demonstrate how the latest version of OpenStack has integrated OPNFV’s fault remediation project, Doctor.

On today’s episode of The New Stack Makers, Kirksey explores how today’s teleco industry is changing for the better with the innovations brought forth by Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technology.
